George and Sarah Gammon 5K Run/Walk

Race info
The George & Sarah Gammon 5K Run/Walk For Freedom originated in 2021 as a way to expand our celebration of Juneteenth. The Gammons demonstrated tremendous bravery and compassion in the struggle for equality, freedom and justice by operating a safehouse on the Underground Railroad in Springfield, Ohio during the 1850s.

Registration fees
Through May 15th (includes a shirt)
$30 - 5K

May 16th through June 10 (includes shirt if registered by June 1)
$35 - 5K

You must maintain a 20 min/mile pace. Please consider this when registering.

Schedule
Race day
Saturday, June 10th, race start
7am to 7:45am: Race day packet pick up.
8am: 5K race start

Parking
Participants will park at the Northwest corner of W. Clark and S.Center.

Post race
TBA

Awards

Age groups: 0-25; 25-50; 50-65; 65 & OVER
1st place male and female: Larger trophy with logo
2nd and 3rd place male and female: smaller trophy with logo
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons in each age group, regardless of gender
Everyone will receive a certificate of participation

Results will post when you finish on the Key Sports website.

Covid/Pandemic Statement
On race day, we will be following the guidance currently recommended from the State of Ohio.
